Maori Art Week - Rakau and action waiata in Rua

We learnt how to use rakau sticks. They were made from rolled up magazines.

We made up a little routine. We had to count and stay in time.

For our action song we had to use strong arms. We looked fierce!

The girls had some different moves to do.

We looked amazing!

Maori Arts Week - Toru class

Mrs McIntrye taught  all of Maunga Block how to make koru designs. We used pastels to colour them in. We tried smudging the pastels to blend colours together.

Once the korus were coloured in we had to cut them out. It was a bit tricky so we really had to concentrate.

Mrs McIntrye  helped us glue the korus onto a background.

All finished and on display - awesome!

More Photos of Clifford in Toru

Can you see the red glow?
It was so great having Clifford come into Toru. We got a big surprise.

Miss Harris helped Clifford hold the book.

Clifford came to Toru Class today.

Clifford read us a story. He came to our class Clifford is soft, we got to cuddle him. He is big.
We love Clifford. We have never seen a dog like that.
He is cute. Clifford loves us.  He is red. He read us the story called Giraffes Can't Dance.
He is fluffy. He was furry. He was really warm. He is humongous! Clifford had a dog collar. It was a bone shape. We like Clifford.
