Who visited Rua Class at writing time?

This afternoon a friend came in Rua Class. It was a Gangnam Style gorilla. He danced on the table. It was funny too. Really! I mean it was cool. He turned around heaps too.

Today Rua Class was sitting on the mat and Mrs H pulled a BIG, scary gorilla out of her back! Nah – just kidding! He had black glasses on and read and white sneakers on his feet. He did Gangnam Style . The first time we had to be quiet and tehn the second time we all did Gangnam Style and it was fun.

Two classes had a special visitor. It was a gorilla and he was wearing red and white sneakers and black sunglasses. Mrs H pulled the gorilla out from her back. The gorilla walks and does Gangnam Style. When he does Gangnam Style  he turns around and he is awesome.

He is cool. He has cool glasses. He’s got a song called Gangnam Style. He is a gorilla. He’s got awesome clothes. He goes around in a circle. His arms are under his chin. We watched him on the table. He danced around on the table.

The gorilla did Gangnam Style. Rua and Toru giggled and laughed.
Mrs H said, “You can have a turn.”
Then we started to write. He has white and red shoes. He has groovy glasses.

Rua Class was excited because Mrs H had a Gangnam Style gorilla. It danced on the table. The children laughed. Mrs H hid the gorilla behind her back. The gorilla had black glasses and white and red shoes and a black and red jacket and a necklace. It was golden. The gorilla was cool and strong.

Clfford visited Rua

Clifford was just so cute and cuddley!

We loved having Clifford visit us. He was really good at reading us a story. Clifford loves to read just as much as we do.

Maui and the Sun in Tahi Class

Mrs Neal showed us the legend of Maui and the Sun.

We used yellow and orange paint to colour the sun.

We glued on curled strips of paper. They look like the rays from the sun.

Theylook amazing in our classrooms.

Maori Art Week - Rakau and action waiata in Rua

We learnt how to use rakau sticks. They were made from rolled up magazines.

We made up a little routine. We had to count and stay in time.

For our action song we had to use strong arms. We looked fierce!

The girls had some different moves to do.

We looked amazing!

Maori Arts Week - Toru class

Mrs McIntrye taught  all of Maunga Block how to make koru designs. We used pastels to colour them in. We tried smudging the pastels to blend colours together.

Once the korus were coloured in we had to cut them out. It was a bit tricky so we really had to concentrate.

Mrs McIntrye  helped us glue the korus onto a background.

All finished and on display - awesome!
